Barista Banter is a coffee appreciation show, where guests learn to improve their next coffee and are challenged to rethink their lives.

Barista Banter is a fantastic show for both the Christian believer and for those investigating the Christian faith. Stephen is an engaging speaker, blending his passion for great coffee with his passion for his great God. Stephen encourages his audience to find great beauty and enjoyment in God’s good creation, for “a man can do nothing better than to eat [macaroons] and drink [coffee] and find satisfaction in his work.”

Stephen really knows his coffee! And this serves as a great point of contact for people in our community who want to enjoy good coffee. Where Stephen’s presentation is a great bonus for the church’s mission  is that he is able to weave the gospel into an evening that is about great coffee, but ends up being about much more.

Kerry brings eight years of experience in Child and Family Counselling, specialising in anxiety.  She has written three story books (one unpublished) on the topic and various newsletters.  She has a passion for helping people understand anxiety, continues to research the topic and runs resilience-based programs in schools. 

This information session is designed to help parents to explore and understand how anxiety develops, with a brief and simple journey into the brain.  It offers opportunity to reflect on the issues that complicate the management of anxious behaviour.  The session will finish with discussion about creative, more realistic strategies to addressing anxious moments and anxious thinking.

Billy Graham Evangelistic Association has 10,000 Dare to be a Daniel discipleship courses to give away, completely free, to churches in NSW.

The Dare to Be a Daniel training is flexible enough to adapt to any programming requirements within in your church.

A little girl found herself lost and alone, she had wandered off from her family and fallen down a cliff face. She was sitting precariously on a rock ledge, half way down the cliff.

She prayed for God to help her, and all of a sudden she could see vines all around her, this gave her hope that she could climb to safety.

There was one vine that looked much stronger and more secure than the others, but she wanted to keep her options open, so she tried all the other ones first. One after the other, she tried them, and they looked good and worked for a while, but they suddenly gave way and she plummeted back down to the ledge.

All the while she wondered why God wasn’t answering her prayers.

Then, out of frustration she gave the strong vine a go, thinking it may be a trick, it looked ‘too good to be true’.

Hand over hand she gripped the rope, as she made her way upwards. It was strong, it was firm, and it was anchored into solid rock.

As she struggled with the climb she finally reached the top to safety. She was saved, and a sense of joy flooded over her. As she looked back she saw it all so clearly. There were other people down there too, she never noticed them before, they were groping in the darkness trying to find their way up.

And so she began shouting to them, letting them know which vine would lead them to safety. To her frustration some didn’t believe her, but to her joy, others listened and trusted her; they began the arduous climb and were saved too.

I’m glad that girl didn’t walk away after she was saved and she stayed to help the others, even saving one life is worth the rejection of the many.

The Christian Playgroup Network is an interdenominational association that is run by volunteers. The network exists to encourage, equip and support those that are ministering to children and families through Playgroups.

We currently have 130 members across Australia from our Anglican, Baptist, Catholic, Christian Community Churches (Brethren), Churches of Christ, Assemblies of God, Salvation Army, Presbyterian, Uniting, Seventh Day Adventist and independent church communities.
